Congressional Gold Medal
As of April 15th, 2017 this is the most up to date info I have on the CGM.
CONGRATULATIONS
to the men of the FSSF
The Force received the Congressional Gold Medal Feb 3rd, 2015. The event was video taped and can be viewed or purchased at
http://www.c-span.org/video/?324142-1/congressional-gold-medal-ceremony
IMPORTANT INFO - THERE IS ONLY ONE Gold Medal made by the US Mint. It is awarded to the members of the FSSF as an entire unit, NOT INDIVIDUALLY. You, your relative or anyone cannot receive a medal from the US Govt. However, there were BRONZE replicas of the medal made available from the US Mint for ANYONE to purchase regardless of their affiliation to the force. This way you can buy one for your loved one or yourself.
You may purchase a replica directly from the
US Mint with the links below.

If you are not a member of the FSSF Association I would strongly urge you to join. This is the best place to receive the updates on the CGM as they are coming from the Association itself. I just try and pass along whatever info I find out about. If you need an application you can get it here or see me an email and I will get it to you.
Here are the other designs that were considered for the front and back of the CGM
